Abstract

This project's aim is to study and analyze the use of extended technique in erudite music composed for viola solo in the XX and XXI centuries, in pieces contained in CDMC Library, at UNICAMP, seeing the different notation's type and the bulls used by the composers to each specific technique and its execution possibilities by the performer, besides dealing with the number of technical difficulties usually found in such repertoire, suggesting possible strategies to confront them. The work also encourage the information exchange by players and composer and contribute to academic study, in a practice and theoretical plan, the use of extended technique for both. (AU)
