Abstract

The work for guitar by the Cuban composer Leo Brouwer (1939) makes up one of the most known and performed in concert halls around the world repertoire. Among his body of work, are series of pedagogical studies, which aim to develop the technique for practical implementation of the guitar student. From an analytical and structural approach, this study aims to identify and assess the compositional procedures used in Nuevos Estudios Sencillos (set of ten studies) as well as the most frequent technical demands. The purpose is, therefore, make proposals, technical and interpretive suggestions, which may be applied during the instrumentalist of the work process, preparation and execution of these studies.
