Abstract

Among the musical works set which constitute the relevant work of the Cuban composer Leo Brouwer (1939), there are numerous series of guitar studies of a pedagogical character, which includes the Nuevos Estudios Sencillos (New Simple Studies) ¿ a set of ten small pieces in honor to different composers. Using the Gestalt principles as a musical and interpretative analysis tool, this master's thesis aims to offer support to the performer as a way to assist the instrumental performance elaboration process of these studies. In addition, it intends to demonstrate the functionality of an alternative analytical tool applied in the musical field, seeking to consider the sonorous object in its entirety, which is composed of the relations established between its constituent elements. Starting from an analytical and structural approach, it identifies the main formal elements which constitute each one of these studies, in order to obtain a better understanding and interpretation of the presented musical material. Subsequently, based on the data obtained through the analysis, it presents technical-interpretative proposals and suggestions, which could be applied during the performer work process (AU)
