Abstract Mastitis is the major disease of cattle for milk production and encumbering the producer and the dairy industry in the first case because the loss as production, and the second by the smallest industrial yield of dairy products. It is a multifactorial disease and multiple etiology, including micro-organisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, yeasts and algae. Among the micro-organisms are highlighted bacterial staphylococcus coagulase-positive (CPS) and negative (SCN), the main Staphylococcus aureus (SCP) and several species of SCN, all characterized as contagious, and Corynebacterium bovis. With high contagiousness has Mycoplasma spp, especially M. bovis important pathogen in other countries, however, little studied in Brazil. It is intended, therefore, to evaluate the presence of M. bovis in bovine milk samples with clinical mastitis, from molecular techniques, in order to assess its importance as a pathogen in bovine mastitis. | |
