Abstract

The use of IMC (body mass index) is a tool used by small farmers to determine the ideal time to shoot down the animal, in order to minimize the cost of production. With the help of the theory of fuzzy logic, which admits infinitely many logical values intermediate between the false and the true, will be developed this research a fuzzy rule-based system, which takes as inputs the "dough" and "height", and as output a new body mass index, called Fuzzy (Fuzzy IMC) that will serve as an indication of the ideal time for the slaughter of bovine animals by comparing them to each other through the linguistic variables "Too low", Low ", Medium", "High" and "Very high". Will be elaborated software in Delphi for the adequacy of the interface to the cattleman (user) thus enabling, that evaluate your herd. For the simulation of the use of the software, it will use a sample of 147 cows of Nelore, located in the municipality of Santa Rita do Pardo-MS, and to the realization of the project will be used the Laboratory of Computational and Applied Mathematics. With the determination of the values of IMC Fuzzy for each animal and the combination of all heights and weights of animals will be developed in Delphi language software that makes it possible to indicate an ideal time to shoot down the animal, and offers ease of use and in this way the producers themselves can enter data and get responses that indicate the slaughter of their flock, optimizing its resources and increasing their profits. The result of this project will be the software, which to insert data of height and mass of each animal will provide notes from 0 to 1 to the situation of each animal and in this way, will assist in the decision-making process of the producer about the slaughter of the animal in question.(AU)
