Comparison in microtomografia of the quality and centralization of the root canal preparation provided by the Wave one and Reciproc systems in simulated root canals

Abstract

Recently in endodontics was launched on the market reciprocates system which consists of the preparation of the root canal with a single instrument. Two systems exist in the market, Wave one and Reciproc. This study aims to analyze the quality of preparation, by means of increasing the volume and the canal area, as well as the centralization of preparation Provided by the two systems. It will be used 30 blocks of acrylic that will be numbered and pre-scanned in microtomography 1174 for completion of the measurement of the pre-instrumentation volume and area. Subsequently, the blocks will be divided into 3 groups of 15 blocks each, according to the following: Group 1 - Wave one system; Group 2 - Reciproc system; Group 3 - manual with the Nitiflex file (control). For the realization of the instrumentation will be used the engine VDW, function in Wave one employment of instruments Wave one and Reciproc Function for instruments Reciproc. Will be used for both systems the instrument 25/.08. In the manual group, it will be employed the step-back technique and the apical instrument will be the 25. The working length for all blocks will be 16mm. After preparation, the blocks will be newly scanned. The volume pre and post instrumentation will be the measurement with the CTVol software will, the area before and after instrumentation will be measurement, as well as the images will be overruled to check the centralization of the preparation.
