Abstract

In the aeronautical sector, researches about titanium and aluminium alloys have been considered concerning application in structural components of the aircraft. The main objective of this work is to perform dissimilar joints between Ti6Al4V alloy and AA6013 using a high-power fiber laser, introducing as filler metal to process, thin films of silicon deposited on titanium alloy by the magnetron sputtering technique. The constitutional and microstructural properties of the Si coating will be considered concerning the microstructural characteristics of the joint to evaluate the inhibiting of formation of brittle intermetallic phases. Therefore, the project involves the basic requirements to obtain the process control considering their optimal parameters and the quality of the dissimilar joints.
