As a work proposal, the project aims to model and computationally analysis the representative and indicative waveforms in the presence of nonlinear loads in a power system, and to estimate the harmonic components using Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT). The results of estimation by ANN will be compared with results obtained using the DFT. Looking up this comparison, the ANN will be validated as an alternative and accurate method for obtaining harmonic components, currently present and not negligible in the electric power system.
