Shear bonde strength evaluation of bonding and rebonding brackets, using adhesive system pre-heated

Abstract

The objective of this study is to evaluate the shear bond strength of bonded and rebonded orthodontic metallic brackets in enamel using preheated (adhesive and resin) adhesive system resin. For this, 40 bovine incisors crowns will be submitted to bonded and rebonded metal brackets with Transbond XT adhesive system totally or partially preheated. Are divided into eight experimental groups (n = 10): G1-without preheating, G1R-rebond without preheating, G2 - adhesive preheated G2R - rebonded adhesive preheated G3 - composite preheated, G3R - rebonded with composite preheated G4 - system preheated G4R - rebonded system preheated. The four groups will initially bond through their brackets hipsters shear testing. New brackets will be rebonded respecting the division of the groups, and the waiting time between bonding and rebonding. The samples will then again by shear testing. The values will be recorded and converted into MPa subjected to statistical analysis. Qualitative analysis will be done in a stereomicroscope with an 8x increase for verification of fracture type and amount of orthodontic adhesive remaining. (AU)
