Abstract

The objective of this project is to evaluate the effect of intra egg supplementation of glycosaminoglycans (chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine) and vitamin C on bone structure, growth performance and carcass yield of broilers from 1 to 42 days of age, minimizing the occurrence of tibial dyschondroplasia in broiler. Three experiments will be conducted, incubation phase I, incubation phase II and post hatching. In the incubation phase I 500 fertile broiler eggs will be used and distributed in a completely randomized design with five treatments (untreated eggs, eggs injected with 100 µl of Milli-Q water without supplement; eggs injected with 2% supplement/100 µl of Milli-Q water; eggs injected with 4% supplement/100 µl of Mili-Q water; eggs injected with 6% supplement/100 µl of Mili-Q water) and five replicates of 20 eggs each, totaling 100 eggs per treatment. After analyzing the data collected during the incubation phase I, the best percentage of the supplement will be established and used for injection into the eggs in phase II. In the incubation phase II 1,300 fertile broiler eggs will be used for the growth phase, distributed in a completely randomized design with two treatments (untreated eggs and eggs injected with the best percentage of supplement determined in incubation phase I) with five replicates of 130 eggs each, totaling 650 eggs per treatment. The chicks from the incubation phase II will be used for the growth phase, distributed in a completely randomized design factorial 2 x 2 (chicks from untreated eggs, chicks from eggs injected with the best percentage and the supplement or not supplement adding the to the diet), with eight replicates of 30 birds each, totaling 960 animals.Statistical analyzes using the Statistical Analysis System SAS® (2002) and in the case of significance the averages will be compared by Tukey test at 5% probability.
