Abstract

The present project is an original research which will assess the histological response of bone tissue in contact with the Biosilicate containing a crystalline phase and a demineralized bovine bone named Bonefill ®. Will be used 84 rats (Rattus norvegicus, Wistar), weighing between 200 and 300 grams. Forty-two rats will undergo surgery for bilateral ovariectomy and forty-two for sham surgery. After 4 weeks of this surgery, the rats will be subjected to the extraction of the right maxillary incisors and distributed according to the following groups: group 1 (Biosilicate) - rats submitted to ovariectomy or sham surgery where the alveolar socket will be filled by Biosilicate; group 2 (Bonefill ®) - rats submitted to ovariectomy or sham surgery where the alveolar socket will be filled with demineralized bovine bone. After 7, 14 and 28 days of grafting the animals will be killed and the right maxilla will be separate and included for histological and histomorphometric analysis. (AU)
