Abstract

The domestic cat (Felis catus, Linnaeus 1758) is a small mammal that beyond being a pet, assists in experimental researches both in the preservation of endangered wild cats as in the study of human diseases. The analysis of embryonic development is of great value, since it optimizes not only the research, especially the reproductive nature, as well as animal welfare, since the elucidation of the gestational period may be key in the treatment of congenital diseases. This work aims to study the formation of the urogenital system in domestic cats. So, will be collected pregnant uteri from castration campaigns, which will be withdrawn its embryos and fetuses for macroscopic and microscopic analysis of light and scanning electron microscopy. Embryos and fetuses will be measured and their gestational ages will be inferred from the "Crow-Rump." At the end, we hope more details chronological of the emergence and formation of both systems.
