Abstract

The magneto-acustografia is an imaging technique in which hybrid medium, labeled with magnetic particles is mechanically excited by magnetic fields generated by external sources. The mechanical disturbance in the object of study is evaluated using ultrasonic pulse-echo measurement. In order to observe the moviment of particles ultrasonic echoes are acquired with high acquisition frequency using ultrasound research platforms (URI) and post process with elastographic processing metrics for determination of viscoelastic parameters. In this project the main proposal is to implement an automate magnetic excitation system integrated with acquisition software of ultrasonic echoes maps embedded in a platform URI from Ultrasonix model Sonix RP. Implementation of this system will generate displacement maps the internal microstructure of media labeled with magnetic particles and consequently the determination of viscoelastic parameters of the medium.
