Abstract

Nanofiber production has been fundamental in several areas as such as material production for filtration systems, biomimetic tissues, biosensors, photoelectric components and drug-delivery. More specifically, for biomimetic tissues drug screening, and, more recently, in cell delivery applications, nanofibers are built as scaffolds. There are different methods for scaffold production, and, among them, there is the electrospinning (ES) that will be a subject of this project. Hence, the goal of this project is the comprehension of the mechanisms for building scaffolds by ES using PLLA, as well as the use of this technique for biomaterials applications.
