Abstract

In the last fifty years it's been increasingly evident the anthropogenic interventions in the climate change. Besides the temperature increase, several studies suggest that climate change is also responsible for interference in precipitation, where we observe a systematic increase in the frequency of intense rainfall. In Brazil, the most frequently disasters are associated with atmospheric instabilities that are responsible for triggering floods, windstorms, tornadoes, hail and landslides. In this study, using a set of indicators, analyzes the interplay between the current precipitation and water behavior in São Paulo city in the last decade, with the support of the techniques of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems. It is also expected to contribute to the discussions that has been proposed for different cities in the world, as the adjustments, and serve as a subsidy for public policy of the municipality. (AU)
