Abstract Based on the original text of "Emma", written by Jane Austen and first published in 1815, this study is inclined to be an experimental project in Portuguese that takes into account aspects of Brazilian's culture and imaginary, as well as of the present time in the development of a narrative with images. The final goal of this research is to create an "illustrated book", based on one of English literature's most traditional novels, but at the same time, that expresses, at least in part, the Brazilian culture.
