Abstract

The current technical-scientific-informational period, also called globalization by Santos (1994; 2000), has as one of its main features the articulation of the money and information tyranny. This ideological apparatus foresees the liberalization of national economies supported by a new market regulation, performed, now, by global corporations, under the imperative of neoliberal politics (PECK; TICKELL, 2002; HARVEY, 2008; SILVEIRA, 2008). In this context, the production of Ethanol is attracting global investments due to emergence of the global energy transition (PIRES DO RIO, 2011), causing, thus, a process of concentration e centralization of capital (Smith, N., 1988). In this entirety vision, our purpose, in this project, is to understand the territorial vulnerabilities (SILVEIRA, 2010; ARROYO, 2006) of urban economy of Piracicaba (SP) in the presence of its productive specialization in capital goods and services to the sugarcane's industry. Especially, in the current scenery of dissolution on the regional organic solidarities - fruit of the old regional production relationships - and the installation of global organizational solidarities (SANTOS, 2009) - managed by agents that operate in global networks.
