Abstract

This research aims to identify the educational activities of Brazilian Cinemateca, with regard specifically to the activities of the Department of Children and Youth Cinema. The clipping temporal chosen between 1954 and 1970, includes the creation of the Department of Children and Cinema Youth, when the institution was an intense action in the educational field, directed by poet and teacher Ilka Brunhilde Laurito. It aims to reflect on the concepts of educational theater for children and youth, besides studying the inclusion of film in context school period. Therefore, it seeks to analyze the literature on the Brazilian Cinemateca and the educational cinema of France and England and their influence on the educational cinema in Brazil time. Will also be analyzed Minutes of meetings, clippings from the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo and The magazine Scena Muda, the period in question, which dealt with the theme. (AU)
