Evaluation of physicochemical properties of bulk-fill composite resins

Abstract

The objective of this study will be to evaluate restoration systems regarding (1) bond strength (BS) to dentin, (2) internal adaptation in class I cavities, (3) microhardness in different depths from occlusal surface and (4) biaxial flexural strength of the composite resins. The restorations systems comprises a restorative composite and its corresponding adhesive system, being three low shrinkage composite resins indicated for bulk filling (Filtek Bulk Fill Flowable Restorative/3M ESPE; Tetric EvoCeram Bulk Fill/Ivoclar Vivadent e Surefil SDR Flow/Caulk Dentsply) and one traditional composite resin (Herculite Classic/Kerr), that will be used by incremental technique (control group). The specimens will be prepared according to each methodology and the BS test will be evaluated after one week and one year of storage. The results will be tabulated and statistically analyzed to compare the experimental groups. (AU)
