Abstract

This overseas research proposal together with the whole post-doctoral program of the candidate, are intended mainly to bring the opportunity of new experiments for the candidate himself and the communities of users of the Brazilian National Synchrotron Light Laboratory. The host institution is the beamline ID10 of the ESRF, which offers the techniques GID, GISAXS and XRR to be performed at liquid surfaces and liquid/liquid, air and solid interfaces. The idea is to familiarize the candidate with the techniques and instrumentation of the beamline ID10 at the ESRF, in view of its implementation at the LNLS, where a similar instrumentation is installed shortly. The applicant's experience in modeling form factor for simulation of X-ray scattering, mainly acquired during this post-doctoral program, will be of great help in scientific collaboration between the two groups. Several subjects are of common interest mainly in lipid complexation with DNA and protein adsorption on surfaces and interfaces. The period chosen for this project could not be better, because the beamline ID10 of the ESRF will undergo a Review in Novembro/2013 and remodeling in March/2014: two moments for deep learning of its main features.
