Abstract

Several studies have shown that factors such as temperature, presence of toxic substances in the body tissues and larval density can affect the development of insect necrophagous found in the body, thus altering the estimation of postmortem interval (PMI), when it is based on the age of the larvae that rearing in this kind of substrate. However, little is known about the combined effect of two variables in the calculation of IPM. However, little is known about the combined effect of two variables in the calculation of IPM. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the development rate of Chrysomya putoria (Wiedemann) and Chrysomya megacephala (Fabricius) (Diptera: Calliphoridae) at different temperatures (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 ºC) under the effect of different concentrations of fluoxetine hydrochloride - 1xDT and 2xDT (considering DT, therapeutic dose = 60mg/day for adult individual, 60kg). A control group, without addition of drug, will be maintained simultaneously under the same conditions for all species. In addition, the thermographic camera will be used to measure the temperature of the larval mass in each treatment condition. Based on information obtained, models of accumulated degree-hours (ADH) will be redesigned to increase the accuracy of IPM in cases involving death by drug use or abuse.
