Abstract

The present research will be carried out at the Poultry Section at the Department of Nutrition and Animal Productionof the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of São Paulo, Campus Pirassununga. Two lodging will be realized each one with 960 one day old chicks. In the first housing, the animals will be inoculated with a strain of Campylobacter jejun known, to contaminate the environment creating health challenge. The second housing will have two protocols for cleaning and disinfecting one in each half of the shed used, constituting the two treatments proposed (General and Proposed). Will be held to collect performance data from animal and environmental microbiology. The objective of this study is: assessing productivity parameters; evaluate the efficiency of cleaning and disinfection program in the elimination of Campylobacter spp. facilities for broilers and to evaluate the economic feasibility of batches of broilers reared in environments subjected to or not cleaning and disinfection protocols proposed. To evaluate the productivity parameters are measured: feasibility, mortality, feed conversion, weight gain, feed intake and productive efficiency. For microbiological evaluation of environment and carcasses will be performed total microorganisms to environment and identification of Campylobacter Ssp for environment and carcasses. Positive samples are subjected to a multiplex PCR assay for recovering known strain of Campylobacter jejuni or identifying other species of Campylobacter ssp. For economic evaluation of financial batches of broilers will be used and adapted the production cost data developed by Embrapa Swine and Poultry 2012 at rearing conditions and results obtained in this study.
