Abstract

Currently, the demand for 3D printing in the dental industry has increased due to the advancement of technology, allowing the performance of procedures with great precision, high efficiency and less discomfort to patients. However, it is important that biofilm formation be studied in these new technologies in order to avoid the occurrence of pathologies, such as denture stomatitis. Therefore, the objective of this in vitro study will be evaluating the effects of simulated mechanical brushing with cleaning and disinfection agents on the microbiological properties and surface roughness of denture base resins obtained by the conventional method and by 3D printing.
