Abstract

In the context of expanding of Primary Care at the Unified Health System (SUS) the quality become one of the great challenges in the field of management and service assessment. The QualiAB questionary is a tool that evaluates the organization process of work using assistance indicators of primary care developed and applied in 2007 (598 services) and reapplied in 2010 (2735 services) in Sao Paulo´s state. Although it has showed reliability and validity assessment tool for primary care services, it requires periodic updates committed with the continuous quality improvement. The aim of these work are: to update the criterions and standard, to improve the quality indicators adopted by the instrument QualiAB; and to develop and validate the content of a new version to this instrument. Methodology: The review will be conducted by iterative process of consensus. The main empiric bases to be used are: review of technical norms; statistical performances analysis on issues of the QualiAb applications in 2007 and 2010; consensus group among researchers; consult to 50 managers of good services and consult to a specialist group. To obtain a QualiAB updated version is expected with an inclusion of new indicators and increase of the quality standard.
