Abstract

The present research aims at discussing the impact of a municipal institutional arrangement regarding international relations in the local public policies. In order to accomplish that, the institutionalization of international actions of a determined subnational government will be verified, as well as the activities that have been done by its agency that takes care of external works. The governmental management of this organism will be analysed and its involvement with the other municipal organizations will be examined. Aiming at exemplifying this matter, a case study in Belo Horizonte/MG will be carried on, since this city has an adjunct office of international relations , which believes that a harmonious relationship among the other offices is of essence, in order to fulfil its duty in a satisfactory way.
