Abstract

The doctorate internship to be held at Universite Paris 8, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Segolène Darly, aims to studying and understanding how the territorial approach has been developed in French scientific research, especially in the context of Geographical Science, in particular those that has been contributing to analysis and understanding of the relationship between the State and the organized civil society, considering central the notions of power and territory and their influences on the execution of public policies. The doctoral research, in progress, has been indicated that the territorial approach can contribute to the understanding of the actions and linkages between the different actors, in order to forge and engage territorialities in contention for ideas about the future of the settlements and the role of public policies and, as a result, the role of the State.
