Abstract

In this project we aim to explore the new synthesis of mesoporous materials to be used in anodes for fuel cells based on LaxSr1-xCryFe1-yO3-d samples. The literature reports studies with anodes in which the electronic transport is performed by ceramic materials instead of metals. This area of research is known as the most promising concerning the research of anodes. The general idea is that the metallic components exhibit a low tolerance to hydrocarbons and impurities such as sulphur. These problems could be avoided by the metal removal, using only ceramic components to perform the electronic transport and the catalytic activity. The promising compounds are La0.75Sr0.25Cr0.5Fe0.5O3-d and La0.33Sr0.66Fe0.66Cr0.33O3-d.
