Abstract

This work discusses the architecture and construction techniques in the USSR. The research aims to provide housing production in the USSR from the beginning of the Cold War (1945) until the oil crisis (1973), when a large number of housing units was produced by a model of technology-intensive heavy prefabricated components the closed-loop. This initiative, much quoted, but little has been studied systematically applied in Eastern Europe and Cuba and inspired a number of initiatives related to pre-production units of housing and social facilities in Brazil. The work, therefore, aims to gather information by presenting the elements for future analysis of the production of pre-fabricated in Brazil, as well as its diffusion as a constructive model during the period analyzed.
