Abstract

The present study intends to examine the reaction time of patients with Asperger Syndrome and patients with high-functioning autism. The study will be conducted on children and teenagers diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, on children and teenagers diagnosed with high-functioning autism and on individuals with no suspected developmental disorders of the same age group as the control group. The participants will undergo an evaluation protocol composed by neuropsychological attention tests and by the CANTABeclipse computerized battery for the evaluation of their simple reaction time, choice reaction time, unpredictable stimuli reaction time and pairing latency (matching to sample). The results will be compared by using parametric statistical analysis (ANOVA) or non parametric statistical analysis (Kruskal-Wallis ANOVA), according to the data distribution.
