Abstract Pharmaceuticals and other micropollutants has been the focus of recent research due to the realization of their occurrence in different environmental compartments worldwide. These compounds have limited degradation in the environment and continuous introduction through various wastewaters. Among these pollutants, antibiotics have gained attention due to their biological activity and the ability to cause the development of bacterial resistance genes in the environment, reducing long-term effectiveness of these compounds. As conventional forms of sewage treatment have proved ineffective in removing these antibiotics and few studies focus on the determination of these substances to be carried out monitoring of pre-and post-treatment of sewage, this project aims at monitoring the electrochemical degradation of antibiotics using a gas diffusion electrode modified with quinones (2-tert-butyl-9 ,10-anthraquinone and 2-ethyl-9,10-anthraquinone). | |
