Abstract Recently, epistemology has turned to study what it called "epistemic virtues": values considered relevant by the scientific field on stablishing "good practices" for researchers. Leaving philosophical reflexion, this thesis aims to think sociological and historically such values in relation to historiography. We understand that such values are part of internal games on fields dedicated to knowledge, and as so have its historicity. Inspired by Michel de Certeau, we also understand that historiography is a practice. Therefore, this research will analyse the concept of history present in works developed by history graduate students between 1980 and 1990, listing the values in dispute and analysing the relations between such values and the constitution of what would be considered "good practices" for historians. The analysis of such values can help us to comprehend this critical period - that may still affect us today - in the definition of what constitutes historiography. | |
