Abstract

The relationship between the digestive system and cardiovascular system has been described in the literature. Tachycardia peaks were observed during swallowing on the electrocardiogram. Heart rate variability (HRV) is a method well recognized in the literature that analyzes cardiac autonomic regulation. However, it is unclear whether there is an effect of spontaneous and forced swallowing on HRV. (AU)
