Abstract

The creation of health promotion programs aimes developing practices and reducing risks for diseases and accidents trying to improving the quality of life of the subject. Such programs gain importance due to the decline in mortality from infectious diseases leading younger groups of the population to live with risk factors associated with chronic diseases and external factors like accidents. As well as the number of the elderly grows and increases life expectancy, noncommunicable diseases become more frequent. Thus the Federal Government launches Ordinance No. 719 establishing the Programme Academy of Health publishes health policy as it encourages the practice of physical activity, recreation and healthy lifestyles. Objectives: To identify the processes of formulation, implementation and enforcement of the general objectives of the Academia da Saúde as public health policy. This is an exploratory multiple case study, using qualitative research techniques, with application of semi-structured questionnaires and interviews with the actors involved in the program, such as municipal secretaries, Primary Care Coordinators, Managers of the place Professionals and Users. Data analysis will be made of descriptive and qualitative data analysis will follow the descriptive technique.
