Abstract

Our aim is to improve the equations of state (EoS) for both symmetric and asymmetric nuclear matter with different neutron-to-proton ratios, which were derived with phenomenological Skyrme interactions of contact form, using nucleon-nucleon (NN) interactions from chiral effective field theory. Since both the Skyrme and NN chiral effective interactions have ultraviolet divergent (UV) terms, calculations with these potentials at any perturbative order are plagued by these divergences. We intend to improve the momentum cutoff scheme with couterterms previously used for the EoS, with the renormalization group (RG) invariant subtraction method, successful in treating scattering equations, to build a renormalized G-matrix for these UV divergent effective interactions. The RG equations for the renormalized Gmatrix will be investigated as well as the contribution of the NN correlation brought by the Gmatrix to the EoS of symmetric/asymmetric nuclear matter. The RG equations for the EoS will be also investigated as well as the generalisation of the renormalisation method to finite temperatures. (AU)
