Abstract

We shall study the various static and dynamical properties of spinor condensates, especially f = 1 spinor condensate with which most of the experiments are performed, using the generalized multicomponent Gross-Pitaevskii equation. We shallinvestigate the ground state congurations of f = 1 spinor condensate in rotating toroidal and anharmonic traps. We shall also study the dynamics of vortex nucleation in these systems. We shall investigate the stability of a single vortex and a vortex-antivortex pair in prolate spinor condensates. In case of a vortex-antivortexpair, we shall study the initiation and subsequent evolution of long wavelength instability known as Crow instability. In addition to these, we shall study the properties of f = 1 spinor condensates in optical lattice potentials.
