Faced with the growing literature addressing the importance of the role of spirituality in the treatment of patients with different pathologies and the limited knowledge in the area of oncology, the study aims to assess the demand of the approach of spirituality, assessing spiritual profile, quality of life cancer patients and whether there is an association between spirituality and quality of life of cancer patients. The primary objective of the study is to assess the demand for assistance in spirituality in cancer patients at our institution and describe the spiritual and religious profile of cancer patients. The study occurred in two phases: first phase - validation of the "The Spiritual Needs Assessment For Patients" (SNAP) for the Portuguese and the second phase - an observational study on the perception of spirituality in the treatment and questionnaire "Functional Assessment of Chronic illness Therapy - Spiritual Well-Bing "(FACIT-Sp) that addresses quality of life and spirituality of the current patient. For the first stage forty patients will be required, and for the second stage, three hundred patients will participate.
