Abstract

There are several algorithms for the formation of learning groups in order to maximize the occurrence of positive interactions that make learning more effective and lasting. Some algorithms are based on the learning styles of learners, and in other restrictions set by instructors. However, the algorithms in this area, although proven to produce results positive for metrics for this purpose are used by inappropriate interfaces or limited graphical rendering them less useful. Such algorithms receive as input information provided by users instructors and apprentices. And produce as output possible group formations. Given an output instructor must be able to interact with the GUI to make adjustments until you are completely satisfied with the training group. To perform these adjustments is necessary that the instructor is able to visualize the possible group formations suggested by the heuristics. Each group formation algorithm, when implemented are unique in your system, making the comparison, analysis and use of various algorithms. The objective of this project is to develop a web-based system that enables the instructor and the learners choose between 6-8 types of algorithms for group formation, and intuitively appealing. Once chosen the algorithm to group formation, the user will be able to view and adjust the groups formed, in order to obtain the best desired result. (AU)
