Abstract Currently does not exist a proposal for phylogenetic Thoropa genus. In addition, a phylogeny based on molecular data would not be enough to understand all species, since this genre two of the six species are threatened and missing. Thus, this project proposes the phylogenetic reconstruction of the genus Thoropa based on internal and external morphology of the species currently recognized. There is an indication that a population of T. taophora (Miranda-Ribeiro, 1923) of the state of São Paulo is another new species. Thus this population will also be treated separately, but we will not not do that description. Will be examined at least the animals deposited in the following collections: CFBH, MNRJ, and MZUSP ZUEC. Phylogeny proposal will be based on the criteria of maximum parsimony phylogeny. (AU) | |
