Abstract

There is an increasing interest of the scientific community in the study of dynamical switched systems. These systems are composed by a finite number of subsystems and a rule that selects at each time instant one of the subsystems in order to assure stability and performance of the overall system. The motivation for this study arises from the intrinsic characteristics that allow, for example, obtaining a stable trajectory even if all subsystems are unstable, or improve the global performance even if all subsystems are stable. In the case of linear systems, there are many papers available, which study the analysis, the performance certification and even the state and output feedback control design. This work aims the study of switched systems that are more involved than the linear ones, since they have several equilibrium points and not only the origin. Our study considers that the switching rule is a control variable to be designed together with a set of state feedback gains in order to assure, to the equilibrium point of interest, global asymptotic stability and H2 or Hoo performance indexes to be defined. There are only a few papers about this topic in the literature, even though it is a subject of high interest due to its elevated potential in practical applications such as in power electronics.
