Abstract

The aim of this proposal is to support a 3 months visit in the group of Prof. Stephen Westland, chair of Science and Technology of Colors from the University of Leeds. This is a new area for me, but my previous experience on optical properties represents a basis for the research in this field. Even though color is an area of strong relevance in the modern world that involves very large research investments, there are few researchers working on color science in Brazil. The University of Leeds is a renowned center of research in color science. This stay on Westland´s group is certainly an important opportunity for me to get used with the methods of color research and to gain experience to start an active work in this new field. During my visit, I will have the opportunity to follow the ongoing projects on color in Leeds and to discuss with all the members of Westland´s group. Furthermore, the stay will be used to establish the details and start working on a collaboration project that I intend to pursue after my return. The project is focused on the investigation of the interfaces of the hue color categories, including the study of effects such as the color medium, color saturation and metamerism. (AU)
