Abstract

This work intends to, first, conceptualize the electric guitar as composition and improvisation interface through the use of new technology in experimental music; second time, perform the sound recording of this study in the shape of a fully digital compositing, using survey data with these same devices attached to the guitar. These devices were chosen after an extensive individual mapping and through trials of its possibilities of sound and creative expansion when approached with the instrument. The compositional material was fully constructed from observations and author's reflections on the use and experiments with certain devices chosen for the research. This choice came after analysis of the potential and sound use of these devices with the electric guitar through a relevant basis for experimental music, resulting in a composition proposed by the research.
