Abstract

In recent years blood transfusion has been increasingly used in veterinary medicine. Therefore, it is necessary to understand and develop techniques to measure the quality and viability of the blood collected until the moment of transfusion. This present study aims to evaluate ten bags of whole blood and fresh plasma from healthy dogs collected and stored under refrigeration (whole blood) or freeze (fresh frozen plasma), containing CPDA-1 for 49 days, it will be valued at eight times with an interval of seven days between each time. At each moment the viability of coagulation factors will be carefully evaluated by the laboratory tests concerning the assessment of plasma coagulation factors including the measurement of TTPA, TP and plasma fibrinogen. The results will be statistically analyzed and compared. (AU)
