Abstract

The purpose of this undergraduate research project is the development and implementation of a realistic virtual environment for validation and comparison between different control laws. For this we will use the dynamic model and the control system developed in RINCÓN's Thesis (UNICAMP, 2013) for a machine tool (CNC), aiming a continuity of learning developed by student exchange held in Paris, France. We will use as a basis the realistic virtual environment developed in CASSEMIRO's Thesis (UNICAMP, 2006) by making the changes necessary to achieve our goal and we will use also the trajectory generator available in the Laboratory of Automation and Robotics at UNICAMP to do the analyzes. There will be a thorough bibliographical study on generalized predictive control (GPC), robust predictive control (GPCR), PID control and robust PID, which will be applied in this work for understanding and comparison as well as its implementation in the RST form that allows the control in real-time and the visualization of the internal structure of the controllers. Another study will be based on developing a virtual environment using Matlab / Simulink, and finally an analysis for understanding the functioning of the trajectory generator. We will create the virtual environment using Matlab / Simulink, which will be inserted kinematics, dynamics and geometric part of CNC machine tools as well as the drivers used. Using Labview we will do an HMI (Human Machine Interface) for the generation of elements required for validation and comparison of control laws analyzed. Within each environment will be analyzed the speed, accelerations, rejection of noise, robustness and other elements that we deem necessary to every law tested. Made this realistic environment we will be able to validate it with tests known to so test different control laws in new environments programmable, thus we will know the answers of each controller allowing us to make a conclusion about what the controller is the plus suited according to our analysis criteria. It will also be an analysis of the current and future cost / benefit of each controller within each workplace. With this we can also predict the future of the industry in relation to predictive controllers as well as its application to other media such as home automation, building automation, biomedical engineering, autonomous car, etc.
