Abstract

The aplication of N-ammonia can increase the efficiency of use of phosphorus (PUE) and ensure greater economic returns in agriculture, especially in tropical and subtropical regions, with acid soils that make this element unavailable. The present work aims to study the impact of ammonia-N on the utilization of phosphorus, the biochemical conditions of the rhizosphere and productivity in corn. The first experiment will be in the greenhouse, where they will be seeded corn plants in Plant Growth Containers (PGCs) (20 cm diameter and 30 cm deep) with soil previously fertilized. The treatments will consist of N sources (Ammonium Sulfate and Ammonium Nitrate), with Nitrapyrin (IN), combined with five P rates (0, 40, 80, 120 and 160 mg kg-1) in a 2x5 factorial arrangement, with ten replications. The second experiment will be conducted in the field, with five replications and eight treatments: two N sources (Ammonium Sulphate and Calcium Nitrate), with Nitrapyrin (IN), combined with four P levels (0, 30, 60 and 90 kg ha-1) in a 2x4 factorial design. At 45 days and at harvest the plants will be collected and will be determined: productivity, dry matter, total levels of P and N, the total content of P and N; recovery efficiency of the P. The lower compartments of PGCs will be removed and soil will sliced on following depths: 0-0.5, 0.5-1.0, 1.0-2.0, 2.0-3.0, 3.0-4.0, 4.0-5.0 and 5.0-10.0 mm. Then will be done the chemical fractionation of P, concentrations of ammonium and nitrate, pH, acid phosphatase activity, microbial biomass, water soluble carbon and activity of PM H +-ATPase.
