Abstract

Media often publish unplanned growth of many municipalities, which results in problems associated with urban mobility, such as absence of walking path, and bad quality of public transport. Taking this situation into account, it appears essential to plan and to propose actions and policies related to urban mobility, avoiding or minimizing any losses or negative consequences for the population. Thus, the set of laws available in Brazil, especially the Cities Statute and Directive Plans - if effectively implemented - is characterized as basic and guiding tools, able to provide guidelines to reach a sustainable urban mobility. The planning of public politics often involves cultural design, which is intrinsically related to the way that individuals interact with each other, and with other instances of the environment in which they exist, representing therefore an important focus of study for Psychology. In this scenario, this project aims to identify and describe behavioral contingencies that are (not with this technical denomination) directly or indirectly referenced in legislation on urban mobility, specifically the City Statute, the Urban Mobility National Politics, and Directive Plan of Bauru, São Paulo State. It is expected that the results of this study will contribute assessing the effects of actual implementation of laws related to urban development, and also offering tools which can be employed in futures interventions resulted from a cultural planning, which considering the theoretical and technological findings of Behavioral Analysis of Culture will provide improvement increases within the urban mobility.
