Abstract

Children who don't have a positive, safe and loving relationship with their father or whose father uses strict disciplinary practices and are exposed to violence and / or marital problems, are at a high risk to develop problems in their social development. Thus, this study aims to: (a) compare the father's social educational skills, the characteristics of marital relationship, abuse potencial in view of the father between the fathers ' group of the children with behavior problems, low academic performance and typical developmental, (b) compare the behavior problems in view of the fathers and teachers between the group of children with behavior problems, low academic performance and typical developmental; and (c) examine the relations between the variables. Will take part this study, 150 fathers who children are at preschool age (four to six years old) and their children's teachers. To reply the objectives: (a) the fathers respond in an interview the Parental Social Educational Skills Script Interview (HSE-P), the Marriage Questionnaire and the Child Abuse Potencial Inventory, (b) teachers and fathers will answer it in an interview, the Strengths & Difficulties Questionnaire - SDQ. To distribute among the participating groups will be used data from SDQ answered by teachers and for teachers SSRS-Version only academic evaluation. To avalie the relations between the variables wil be used Pearson correlation test and to compare the results of three groups will be used ANOVA test. (AU)
