Abstract

Changes resulting from heart failure affect the immune system and inflammation, resulting in fatigue and dyspnea, limiting factors to the effort. Another change also important is in the structure of skeletal muscle, where there is an exchange standard for obtaining energy from oxidative to glycolytic, reducing resistance to physical stress. This randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the acute effects of the application of low intensity laser therapy in rectus femoris, functional capacity and blood lactate in patients with systolic heart failure during hospitalization. Will be assessed 30 patients diagnosed with heart failure (ejection fraction of the left ventricle < 50 %) randomized between two groups: placebo laser and laser group active in rectus femoris, pretest 6-minute walk (6MW). Are analyzed functional capacity (through distance in 6MWT) and blood lactate levels. (AU)
