Abstract

This project aims to investigate in the writings of Michel Foucault some of the relationships between 'philosophy' and 'history', seeking to understand the principles and procedures under which its historical-philosophical thought is organized taking the history of the production of truth as interrogative key in their different spheres. To do so, we will seek to focus on the distinct correlations or communications, and even the tensions that are established between 'philosophy' and 'history' in the itinerary of his research: that is, on the one hand, the various issues related to establishment of an archeology of knowledge (and its inescapable relationship with the "truth") in the 1960s, or even in its conjunction with the "political history of truth" placed on the scene by the genealogy of power (1970s), culminating, about questions around genealogy of ethics (1980s), in the approach on a conception of philosophy able to articulate a historical, dynamic and complex "experience" between the axes of knowledge, power, ethics and aesthetics and to introduce a new dimension of "truth". Finally, to highlight the continuing centrality of the correlation between philosophy and history in Foucault's thought and its irreducible correlation with the truth, we will seek a pivot point that allows certain interrogative coherence to his itinerary.
