Abstract

In the last decades the Technologies of CAD/CAM have developed, opening new possibilities for the production and teaching of architecture and urbanism. Tool as NURBS modeling, parameterization and prototyping were inserted into the architectonic production, and they are changing the form of thinking it and producing it. This research will explore the applications of those new technologies in architecture, focusing in the production of sunlight shelters and its optimization, searching for best thermic comfort and natural illumination. Besides offering to the user a well-being, those practices reduce the dependence of air conditioning machines, reducing the energetic consumption of the building.
