Abstract

The british television show Sherlock counts with the recreation of the characters and the plot of the book series centered in the adventures of Sherlock Holmes, which are originally Conan Doyle's, for now-a-days so that be kept a interdiscursive/intertextuality relation between the two discourses. This project proposes to analyze the dialog taken between the two discourses, focusing on the construction of the subject Sherlock, more specifically on his relation to the antagonist Jim Moriarty. To do so, there will be used the concepts of subject, ideological sign, genre, utterance and dialogism according to what is discussed by the Bakhtin, Medvedev, Volochinov Circle, to comprehend how the constitution of the discursive hero of the television series is constructed, considering its shift over time and across genres - from the detective novel of the nineteenth century to the contemporary television series.
